WASHINGTON (April
5) – Adding Washington experience
to his staff, Chairman Billy Tauzin (R-LA) has named the following professionals
to focus on oversight, policy and administrative issues for the House Energy and
Commerce Committee:
J. Keith Ausbrook will serve as counsel to Rep. James C. Greenwood
(R-PA), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
An attorney with significant investigative experience, Ausbrook comes to
the Subcommittee from the Office of the Independent Counsel, where he most
recently served as deputy independent counsel.
He has also worked for the House Government Reform and Oversight
Committee’s National Economic Growth, Natural Resources, and Regulatory
Affairs Subcommittee, serving as chief counsel and acting staff director.
Ausbrook was a practicing attorney with the law firm Collier, Shannon,
Rill and Scott. He holds an
undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a J.D. from the University of
Virginia School of Law.
Sean B. Cunningham will serve as an energy counsel to the Committee.
He most recently represented clients on energy issues as an associate in
the law firm of Balch and Bingham. Cunningham
has extensive Capitol Hill experience, including his role as counsel to the
House Government Reform and Oversight Committee’s National Economic Growth,
Natural Resources, and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee and a stint with
Representative Dick Armey. He
received a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, a masters in
philosophy from Catholic University and a B.A. in history from the University of
Virginia.
Raymond V. Shepherd III has been tapped as an oversight counsel to the
Committee. Shepherd – a
legislative director to then Rep. Fred Heineman, and communications director to
former Rep. Alex McMillan – comes back to the Hill from the law firm of Janis,
Schuelke and Wechsler. He has also
served as an associate attorney at Wiley, Rein and Fielding and a law clerk for
the U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia.
Shepherd holds a J.D. from the George Washington Law School and a B.A. in
philosophy from Yale College.
Finally, Linda Lee Walker has
been named the Committee’s administrative and human resources director. Walker
comes to the Committee from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where she was director
of services and administration in the international division.
Prior to her years of service with the Chamber, she held managerial
positions with a number of organizations throughout the world. Walker was
graduated from the State University of New York at Albany.
