On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building, the full Committee held a hearing entitled "Preparing for the 2009 Pandemic Flu." The purpose of the hearing was to learn what is known about this novel influenza strain, what the nation can expect in terms of a surge in cases of H1N1 influenza, and what steps the Department of Health and Human Services has taken and is planning on taking to respond to the surge in cases.
