Federal Oversight of High Containment Bio-Laboratories

On Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations held a hearing entitled "Federal Oversight of High Containment Bio-Laboratories." This was the second hearing the Subcommittee has held on biological research laboratories and their increased numbers since the 2001 anthrax attacks. The purpose of the hearing was to assess the status of government oversight over such labs.
