The Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet met in open markup session on Thursday, October 8, 2009, to consider H.R. 1147, the "Local Community Radio Act of 2009"; H.R. 1084, the "Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act" (CALM Act); H.R. 1258, the "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009"; and H.R. 3633, a bill to allow the funding for the interoperable emergency communications grant program to remain available through FY 2012.

Rep. Mike Doyle, D-PA., offered an amendment in the nature of a substitute to make technical corrections to the H.R. 1147 "Local Community Radio Act of 2009". This amendment passed by voice vote. For a copy of this amendment, click here.

There were no Republican amendments to H.R. 1147.

H.R. 1147 was favorably reported out of the Subcommittee by voice vote.

Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-CA., offered an amendment in the nature of a substitute to make technical corrections to H.R. 1084, the "Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act" (CALM Act). This amendment passed by voice vote. For a copy of this amendment, click here.
